What To Expect

Xingping Town

Meet your local guide in the lobby of your hotel in Guilin downtown and start your enjoyable tour in the afternoon. Starting time is flexible depending on the time of sunset.

After about 1.5 hour driving, you will arrive at Xingping Ancient Town. With a history of over 1,700 years, Xingping ancient town is like a pearl by the highlight section of Li River. Exploring the tranquil and natural beauty of this small town, it is a place worth visiting, especially the Ancient Drama Stage.

On your way to enjoy the cormorant fishing, if the weather allows, you can choose to climb the Laozhai Hill and have an overlook of Li River landscape at Heping (Peace) Pavilion.

Then hiking to the spot where is featured on the RMB 20 Yuan note. On the bank of Li River in this town, you will see the local fisherman and his cormorant performing traditional processes of fishing (5 times of casting net included, extra fee CNY10 is needed for each one more time of casting). Just feel free to capture each and every moment of the performance. Then you will enjoy the stunning sunset over the river, and let the picturesque landscape to be recorded in your camera forever.

You will have dinner on your own after finishing all the activities mentioned above. And then you will be driven back to your hotel in Guilin.
