Overview

Wolong national Nature Reserve is the earliest, largest, and best-know panda reserve in the world. It was hit by the catastrophic Wenchuan Earthquake in 2008. After years of road construction, travelers can visit Wolong Panda Base now. Accompanied by a professional panda expert who introduced you the topics of the panda discovery, the history of panda in China, the classification, and panda conservation.

07:00am  Pickup at your Chengdu hotel

7:00am to 9:00am  Head to Wolong Panda Base (2 hours ride)

9:10am  Enter Wolong Panda Base (admission included)

9:10am to 12:30am  Stroll through the beautiful Panda base.

12:30am to 2:00pm Lunch hour

2pm to 4pm  Heading back to your Chengdu hotel (2 hours ride)

4:00pm Arrival in Chengdu hotel where this tour is concluded

6:40am to 8:40am  Head to Wolong Panda Base (2 hours ride)

8:40am  Enter Wolong Panda Base (admission included)

8:40am to 9am  Change into volunteer outfit and receive briefing from local staff

9am  Start cleaning the enclosure (including cracking the bamboo)

10:30am  Feeding time (snacks for feeding the pandas are made of corn, carrots, and supplemental vitamins)

11:30am to 1pm Lunch hour for volunteers (buffet lunch is included)

1pm to 2pm  Viewing panda documentary produced by National Geographic Magazine on releasing pandas back into the wilderness

2pm to 3pm  Cleaning panda enclosures

3pm to 3:30pm Making panda snacks

3:30pm to 5:30pm Heading back to your Chengdu hotel (2 hours ride)

5:30pm Arrival in Chengdu hotel where this tour is concluded

Wolong Giant Panda Nature Reserve
Located at the southwest of Wenchuan County, and first constructed in 1963, it is one of the earliest comprehensive national reserves. The place has more than 100 pandas, accounting 10% of the total number in the country. Besides, there are other rare animals and plants as well as rich water resources.
