Overview

Tibet is located on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, known as the 'Roof of the World', with an average altitude of more than 4000 meters. It is a 'base camp' of mountains composed of a series of high mountains. Five of the 14 peaks over 8000 meters in the world are located in Tibet, including the world's highest peak, Mount Everest. Tibet is surrounded by mountains and lakes. Kangrinboqe- the 'King of Shenshan' in Ali region, is the world center in the hearts of believers; Yamdrok Lake the 'holy lake' is like the bright pearls embedded in this snowy plateau.
