What To Expect

Bamboo Temple (Qiongzhu Si)
Meet your tour guide in the lobby of your Kunming hotel, hop on your private air-conditioned vehicle, heading directly to the Bamboo Temple (1 hour away from Kunming). On the way your tour guide will tell you the legendary story about the Bamboo Temple. Feel free to ask questions if you have. The Bamboo Temple dates back to the Song Dynasty (960 - 1279). Its most outstanding artistic feature is the distinguished, finely crafted statues of the 500 Luohans (Buddhist Arhats). Throughout the Bamboo Temple are numerous inscriptions and couplets on columns and tablets. These inscriptions date back to the 1200's and give us glimpses into the life and culture of those times. Fellow your tour guide to stroll around the halls and courtyards, admire its natural, artistic and cultural insight.

Kunming Golden Temple
Then, move on to Kunming Golden Temple. Sit back and enjoy the sceneries along the way. (1 hour). Kunming Golden Temple start to built in the year of 1602, it is the largest copper temple in China. At that time the governor of Yunnan Province was a devout Taoist who built this temple to honor the Taoist hero-god Zishi. Spend some leisure time to explore the temple, get to know the history about the Taoism in China, its culture and its people.

Yuantong Temple
Enjoy lunch in the local restaurant, then explore the Yuantong Temple. Yuantong Temple is at the foot of Yuantong Hill. With a history of more than 1,200 years, it is one of the grandest as well as the most important Buddhist temple in Yunnan Province. Follow the stone staircases to reach the top and enjoy terrific panoramic view of the entire complex.

Finally, spend some leisure time to visit one of the most beautiful park in Kunming-- Green Lake Park.
