It was fantastic and magical all st once! The place has an ancient energy very unique with a story to tell around each corner. Walls are huge! The most was frozen as temp was minus plus the snow had been cleaned away which created a different feeling totally. Loved the experience and will go back next year to see what we ran out of time to see
Must see

Although it was super crowded, it is definitely a place that deserves its reputation and every visitor of Beijing should see!
Must visit again

I visited 20 years ago. It was so awesome, like stepping into a different world in a different time. This time I brought my teenagers and younger kids to visit. They ended up playing with snow instead. As it was so cold us them during winter, we had to hurriedly end the visit.

There was security check after the subway exit. Couldn’t get any taxis at the exit of the Forbidden Palace so we took a bus to our hotel instead. I returned in the evening with my husband and older daughter but we climbed Jingshan Peak and had a birds eye view of the Forbidden Palace during sunset. It’s nostalgic to imagine what life was like for the people who stayed in the palace.
Good and easy process

For us it was very simple. We reserved the tickets and so we were able to skip the line. Nothing more but perfect for us to enjoy this experience.
