Your tour guide will meet you at your hotel at 09:00 a.m.. Then, transfer to Qibao Ancient, wander in Qibao Old Street and experience local lifestyle.
As the only ancient town forming part of greater Shanghai, with a history spanning over one thousand years, Qibao is more than just a living fossil of ancient Chinese conurbation and urban planning. Qibao Ancient Town has both the scenery of water town and a history spanning over one thousand years. The name originates from the Qibao Temple. A great variety of snacks in Qibao Ancient Town will attract your eye. Walk along Qibao Old street, taste typical snacks and enjoy the local lifestyle.
Qibao Ancient Town can satisfy your curiosity about ancient water townships without the bother of either long distance or the rush of crowds.

Then, you will visit the oldest temple in Shanghai - Longhua Temple.

Longhua Temple
Longhua Temple is the oldest temple in Shanghai for its long history of over 1,700 years. The visitor here having marveled at the city's modern architecture and historical sites. Besides its long history, Longhua Temple is the largest temple in Shanghai. It occupies an area of over 20,000 square meters (five acres) and the architectural proportion is about 5,000 square meters (1.2 acres). The whole courtyard was built strictly in the style of traditional Buddhist symmetry and it's in accordance with the Chinese concept of beauty.

At noon, you will enjoy vegetarian noodles for lunch at Longhua Temple.
In the afternoon, you will continue your Shanghai tour and appreciate original propaganda posters from the 1940s to 1990s at Shanghai Propaganda Poster Art Centre.

Shanghai Propaganda Poster Art Centre
This is a private museum dedicated to collecting and displaying posters. It contains over 6,000 collections of original propaganda posters from the 1940s to 1990s. It covers chairman Mao’s time and shows the political movements that were taking place during the New China era. It was founded by Mr. Yang Pei Ming who started collecting the posters as a hobby in 1995.

Then, we will admire the western-style architectures in the 1920s around Former French Concession area.

Former French Concession
Known for its tree-lined boulevards, the former French Concession is a stylish neighborhood boasting a charming mix of Chinese and European architecture. Walk along quiet alleyways, absorb the botanical beauty of a French-style park and admire the intricate facades of villas and apartments built in the early 20th century and discover the famous figures that have resided within.
You will walk around Former French Concession area, such as: Huaihai Road, Hengshan Road, Wukang Building, Xintiandi and Shikumen Museum.
Huaihai Road which is Shanghai's most beautiful and fashionable street with the best emotional appeal.
Hengshan Road is lined with leafy trees and European-style constructions.

Wukang Road
Wukang Road is only 1.17 km long. There are 21 outstanding city-level historical buildings and 22 district-level cultural protection relics. Each house and its detail show its stories and history. All of the buildings on the road are in European style, and while walking on Wukang Road you'll get the sense that you have arrived in Europe.
Wukang Building is the most famous building on Wukang Road. The building, shaped like a giant vessel, was the most famous English-styled building in Shanghai back in the 1930s. The Wukang Building was designed by Hudec, the well-know architect.

Then, you will visit Xintiandi and Shikumen Museum.

Xintiandi
Xintiandi is a tourist attraction that preserves the historical and cultural features of Shanghai and integrates Chinese and western culture. Xintiandi is divided into northern and southern parts. The south is dominated by modern architecture. The north is dominated by Shikumen old buildings. Composed of Shikumen and modern architectural style, now it has become a hot and fashionable pedestrian street in the center of the city. Actually, it stands for the popular and leisurely life style of this city's new generation. The outdoor cafes, bars and romantic restaurants can be seen everywhere.

Then, we will visit Shikumen Museum and learn about the living space and lifestyle of Shanghai people in those days.

Shikumen Museum, Shanghai
It is an old shikumen house built in the 1920s that has been preserved and renovated. The museum was built according to the model of one household in the 1920s. There are seven main exhibition rooms, namely, the guest room, the study room, the old people's room, the master room, the daughter room, the pavilion room and the oven room. The story of a shikumen family runs through the whole visit. It not only shows the unique shikumen architectural culture of Shanghai, but also reproduces the living space and lifestyle of Shanghai people in those days.
