What To Expect

Shanghai Jewish Site
Ohel Moishe Synagogue---During WWII this designated area became the home of approximately 20,000 refugees from Central Europe. The tour takes a walk through the former ghetto, visits Huoshan park, and goes to Ohel Moishe Synagogue and its museum.

The Peace Hotel---Built by British-Jew,Victor Sassoon, former Cathay Hotel, this luxurious building epitomised the era when Shanghai was known as the ‘Paris of the East'.

Bund---The Bund shows off Shanghai's outstanding foreign buildings, most of which were erected before 1937.it is the emblem of Shanghai, the area used to be British concession.

Lunch is not included

Former Jewish Club---was a club for the whole community. News of the establishment of the state of Israel, including Prime Minister David Ben-Gurion's speech, was read to the community at the Jewish Club in 1948. The club is now used by the Shanghai Music Conservatory. The Jewish influence on Shanghai's music scene was quite notable, and Jews from central Europe and Russia trained many who became the city's leading musicians for decades.

Moller Villa---on the edge of the French Concession is unique for its fantasy of brown-tiled Gothic and Tudor steeples, gables, and spires. It was built by a Jewish shipping magnate from Sweden, Eric Moller, in 1936.
