What To Expect

Dragon's Backbone Rice Terraces

Your guide and driver will pick you up in the hall of your Guilin hotel at the scheduled time. Take the mountain road to Longji. Known as the Longji rice terraces in Chinese, they were first established in the 13th century and completed at the start of the Qing dynasty from 1644 to 1911.
The magnificent terraces disperse at an altitude of between 980 feet (300 meters) and 6600 feet (1100 meters) above sea level, and at a maximum slope of 50 degrees, creating a huge scenic area of about 25 square miles (66 square kilometers).
Over the seasons, the terraces take on a changing color, silvery white in winter, lush green in summer, golden in autumn, while in spring the water reflects the sky, clouds, mountains, villages like a mirror. The landscapes are splendid.
You can also visit the village of Zhuang, a mysterious ethnic group that women keep their hair very long. In addition, you can learn a lot about their culture and daily life and enjoy their beautiful songs and delicious lunch.
After the visit, the driver will drive you to your Guilin hotel. End of service.
