What To Expect

Baiyun Mountain
You will meet your guide at 08:30 in the lobby of your Guangzhou hotel. Guangzhou is China’s third largest city after Beijing and Shanghai and for many years until the first Opium War in 1839, it was the only port that was permitted to trade with foreign merchants. Today it is a modern bustling city and an important international hub, but around the city there are several areas of retreat that bring relief from the busy city that Guangzhou has grown to be.

Start your day exploring an area of stunning scenery that is almost completely surrounded by the ever growing urban developments of Gaungzhou, White Cloud Mountain or Baiyun Mountain. Located just 15 kms to the north of downtown Guangzhou, Baiyun Mountain sits within the Baiyun Scenic Area which contains several zones of natural beauty, including Moxing Peak at the highest of around 30 peaks within the Scenic Area. More than 95% of the Baiyun Mountain is covered in vegetation creating a large area of fresh air that has earned it the title ‘Lungs of the City’.

Take a cable car to the top of White Cloud Mountain, passing several picturesque spots such as Cloudy Valley and the Nengren Temple along the way. From the top you will have a birds-eye view of Guangzhou. Visit several other sites such as the Mingchun Valley, which is the largest natural bird cage in China. Leaving the Baiyun Scenic Area, you will be taken for a Chinese lunch before continuing your day at Yue Xiu Park.

Yuexiu Park
No visit to Guangzhou would be complete without seeing Yuexiu Park, the largest park in downtown Guangzhou at over 800,000 square metres. Inside there are lakes and hills to enjoy and it is also the location of the Five-Ram Sculpture, which has become the emblem of the city. You will also see the Zhenhai Tower, a landmark of Guangzhou, which houses the museum of art, reputed to be one of the earliest Chinese museums.

60 minutes • Admission Ticket Included

Museum of the Western Han Dynasty Mausoleum of the Nanyue King
Finish your day of touring at the Museum of the Mausoleum of the Nanyue King. The museum contains the 2,000 year old tomb of King Zhao Mo who ruled during the Western Han Dynasty from 137 to 122 BC. The tomb was discovered in downtown Guangzhou in 1983 during excavation for a hotel and has yielded up a significant number of artefacts and treasures. In the museum, as well as the tomb you can see the burial chariot and the gold and silver ware. There were many pieces discovered in the tomb from other regions such as Central Asia and Vietnam and these are also on display.

Later you will be taken back to your hotel where your tour ends.
