What To Expect

Xi'an

Your private driver will pick you up in the early morning and transfer to Xi'an Railway Station to catch your high-speed train to Pingyao(train departs at 7:41am). Your driver will assist with obtaining the tickets.

Shuanglin Temple

Upon arrival at Pingyao Railway Station, look for your name, meet your tour guide and driver at the exit. Then head to Shuanglin Temple, a large Buddhist temple in the Shanxi Province of China. Founded in 6th century, it is notable for its collection of more than 2,000 decorated colorful clay statues, reflecting the exquisite skills of the artisans of the Song, Yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties, inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site together with the Ancient City of Pingyao in 1997.

Ancient City of Pingyao

After Shuanglin Temple visiting, stop for a local lunch. Then continue to Pingyao Ancient City, founded during the Western Zhou Dynasty (1046 – 771 BC) and rebuilt in 1370. It is nowadays one of China's four best preserved old cities together with Lijiang Old Town, Huizhou Ancient City and Langzhong Ancient City.

City Wall of Pingyao

In the Ancient City, you can have a walking on the City Wall with your private guide. The site of the ancient city walls in Pingyao is home to one of the four most well-preserved ancient city walls in China.
Or you can visit the Pingyao Confucian Temple, Rishengchang Former Bank or Ming, Qing Dynasties Street or other landmarks interest you most.

After the tour, you will be transferred back to Pingyao Railway Station to catch your train back to Xi'an (train departs at 6:18pm). Your driver will meet you at Xi'an Railway Station and transfer back to your Xi'an hotel.
If you choose tour ending in Pingyao, you will be transferred back to your hotel after the tour.
