Reviews

Becky was a fabulous tour guide.

This review is a long time in coming, we visited China last year 2019 in March/ April. We were a private party of 4 with Becky as our private guide. Becky was a very knowledgeable guide with excellent English skills. She tailored our 1 day visit to meet our needs and made sure we had an opportunity to eat some authentic buns. I would highly recommend Becky as a tour guide.
Customized Day in Beijing

Lucy’s custom 8 hour Beijing tour was a perfect way to see exactly what we wanted in a single day. It was a full day, but very easy going and fulfilling! Lucy has great insight on all things Beijing; history, culture, architecture, food, and the people. We specifically asked for a locally patroned restaurant for dumplings… sooooo, good! Whatever you might want to see, do, eat, or experience, I’m sure Lucy can make a day of it for you! Highly recommended!
Great day- lots of learning!

Alice was very helpful and thoughtful. She went above and beyond! As a first time traveler to Beijing, she helped teach me to use the subway and history of the region! She was on time and had everything arranged to meet my interests.
Susan was a Fabulous Tour Guide for my Visit to Beijing
Trvlnlite516, 10-11-2019
My arrival to Beijing from Singapore was not the smooth sailing that I had hoped. After flying all night to Beijing I got caught up in an almost two hour line for a transit visa at Beijing airport. This being my first time going to China I was a indeed nervous and stressed about this situation. I contacted both my driver and my tour company that my arrival and collection of luggage would be delayed because of the long transit visa line. The tour company immediately responded that my tour guide was heading to my hotel to pick me up and would wait for me. I did not get to my hotel until almost two hours later. Susan was there waiting for me. I was so very happy to see that. After dropping my luggage, we immediately went to our awaiting vehicle and I met the driver who was very friendly and we drove to Tiananmen square. Susan and I walked through the entrance without waiting because she is a certified tour guide. I was happy for that because across the street was a line of what seemed like hundreds of people who did not have tour guides were waiting to get in. I had questions as we walked the length of the square and Susan adeptly answered them. She also took pictures of me with my camera of me touring the square and I was amazed at the crowd of people. It was a cold day in Beijing and all I had on was a denim jacket. Susan offered me her hat and it was a blessing because I was cold. She asked if I needed to sit for a rest and asked if I was hungry since I came straight from the airport on a 6:30am flight arrival. She had snacks and water which I was absolutely grateful for. We rested as I needed as I am 65 and she was making sure that I was comfortable with the level of touring in the square. We also visited the Forbidden city. I also had a change to interact with a few local chinese citizens as some were in awe of my skin color. They asked me questions in their language and Susan interpreted for me. They smiled as she gave them my answers. Susan and I only got through to the Hall of Harmony as this is a huge layout. I took hundreds of pictures and I was so happy to have had the opportunity to visit China. I was extremely happy to have booked a private tour guide as I was traveling Solo and wanted a very personal experience in Beijing. Being a person of color I was extremely nervous about my reception in the Chinese community. Susan certainly made me feel comfortable and welcomed to her country. She answered all my questions and was extremely personable. We discussed travel and family and we even discussed chinese medicine and teas and she asked if I wanted to visit a tea house. I was very enthused about the tea house visit and my experience there was amazing. As a solo traveler I highly recommend a personal tour guide as I feel it was a much better experience than being in a group setting. For me it was money well spent and if I ever go back to Beijing again I would definitely book my own personal guide to show me around the city and take me to points of interest. My second suggestion would be to ask for Susan. I felt well taken care of. My comfort and well being was her highest concern and from a very stressful beginning of my day to a relaxed informative tour I can not say enough about my experience and how Susan took care of me. Thank you Susan so very much. I am home now decompressing from my jet lag but I will always remember Susan and my fabulous experience in Beijing.
Tour Guide Becky was great!!!
popestcyril, 24-07-2019
Becky started out by finding out what we had done already, and what our thoughts were. She arranged for us to see everything we wanted to see on the tour, and was a font of information at each stop. (We saw the Llama Temple, the Confucian Temple, The Summer Palace, She also found for us this Tea House we had read about in a Hutong. It would have been impossible for us to find, even with GPS. And when we got there the owner only had a very expensive price which included tea and snacks for 3 hours. At first she said that was the only option. Becky talked her into a more reasonable price for 30 minutes of Tea and snacks. I highly recommend her. She is the best. And I want to say something about the company she works for. I had a minor problem with another tour... they went out of their way to research the problem and offered me a refund. I told them that the refund was not necessary. I was suitably impressed with how seriously they were taking the problem. But even though I told them a refund was not necessary for that other tour, they sent me one anyway. Both Becky and Beijing Tours are fantastic!!! Highly recommended.
