Overview

Visit 652 years old Temple of Heaven which originally used by the Emperors to pray each year for a good harvest. Now, it is a favorite place for local people to gather and socialize with activities such as singing, dancing, Tai Chi, and etc. Continue your visit to Jinshan Park where you will have a bird’s view of the Forbidden City at Wanchun pavilion. Tasty Chinese dishes will be served at a restaurant before transfer you to grand Mutianyu section Great Wall.

What To Expect

Temple of Heaven

Meet your private guide in the lobby of your hotel at 08.00 and transfer by air-conditioned car to Temple of Heaven which is constructed in the 15th Century and originally used by the Emperors of the Ming and Qing Dynasties to pray each year for a good harvest. The Temple is now a UNESCO World Heritage Listed site and the extensive surrounding parklands are a popular place for local people to congregate and socialize with activities such as singing, dancing, playing cheese, Tai Chi, majhong, or just drinking tea and chatting. Your guide will walk with you around the complex and explain the purpose of each of the buildings and allow you time to enjoy the surrounding buildings and parkland.

Jingshan Park (Jingshan Gongyuan)

Coming out of Temple of Heaven, you will be transferred to Jingshan Park where you have an opportunity to have a bird’s view of the Forbidden City. And then, your lunch will be served at Quanjude restaurant for a tasty of Peking roasted duck. Quanjude became established more than 150 years ago during the Ming Dynasty and was the place where roasted duck was prepared exclusively for the Imperial dining table. Each duck is carefully and finely carved so that there is crispy skin, delicious duck fat and a small amount of meat in each Peking Duck pancake.

Mutianyu Great Wall

After enjoying the delicious meal, you will be driven to Mutianyu Great Wall, a distance of around 75 kms(Approximate 1.5 hours driving). This section of the Great Wall predates the section at Badaling and was built to protect the capital and the imperial tombs located to the south. The Mutianyu section was rebuilt in 1569 and today it is the best preserved and most extensive section of the wall, with the greatest density of watch towers. A special feature of Mutianyu is the chair lift and gondola lift that will take people up to the ridges the wall runs along. After an introduction from your guide, you will have time to explore this section of the wall and to enjoy the surrounding forest scenery.

After the tour, you will be transferred back to your Beijing hotel.
