Overview

Located in Huairou district and about 70 km from downtown Beijing, Mutianyu Great Wall is less crowded with picturesque views. This section once worked as the northern barrier defending the capital and the imperial tombs. It is a green section of the Great Wall in Beijing with vegetation, green pines and cypresses covering 90 per cent of the section. This half day trip will take you to hike one of the most beautiful Great Wall sections at Mutianyu. What To Expect

Mutianyu Great Wall

Local tour guide and driver will pick you up from your Beijing downtown hotel, it takes around 1.5 hours driving from Beijing downtown to Mutianyu Great Wall. Besides its strategically important location and compact layout, the Mutianyu Great Wall is also famous for the breath-takingly beautiful scenery, you will appreciate beacon towers lying at some advantageous strategic forts as well as the charming natural scenery at the foot of the wall

There are three ways to get onto the Wall, apart from hiking up on foot, you can also take cable car or chair lift. To get down the Great Wall, you can walk step by step or take Toboggan slide down, you can choose your preferred one and pay on the spot. After around 2 hours hiking on the Mutianyu Great Wall, drive back to downtown and drop off at your hotel to conclude the trip.
