What To Expect

Xintiandi
Your tour guide will meet you at your hotel at 09:00 a.m.. Then, we will transfer to Former French Concession and admire the Sikumen style old houses at Xintiandi.
Xintiandi is a tourist attraction that preserves the historical and cultural features of Shanghai and integrates Chinese and western culture. Xintiandi is divided into northern and southern parts. The south is dominated by modern architecture. The north is dominated by Shikumen old buildings. Composed of Shikumen and modern architectural style, now it has become a hot and fashionable pedestrian street in the center of the city. Actually, it stands for the popular and leisurely life style of this city's new generation. The outdoor cafes, bars and romantic restaurants can be seen everywhere.

Then, we will visit Shikumen Museum and learn about the living space and lifestyle of Shanghai people in those days.

Shikumen Museum, Shanghai
It is an old shikumen house built in the 1920s that has been preserved and renovated. The museum was built according to the model of one household in the 1920s. There are seven main exhibition rooms, namely, the guest room, the study room, the old people's room, the master room, the daughter room, the pavilion room and the oven room. The story of a shikumen family runs through the whole visit. It not only shows the unique shikumen architectural culture of Shanghai, but also reproduces the living space and lifestyle of Shanghai people in those days.

Former French Concession
We will walk around Former French Concession area, such as: Jinjiang Hotel, Okura Garden Hotel Shanghai, Moller Residence, Cathay Cinema and so on.
Known for its tree-lined boulevards, the former French Concession is a stylish neighborhood boasting a charming mix of Chinese and European architecture. Walk along quiet alleyways, absorb the botanical beauty of a French-style park and admire the intricate facades of villas and apartments built in the early 20th century and discover the famous figures that have resided within.

Then, we will visit the most famous temples in Shanghai - Jing’an Temple.

Jing'an Temple
Jing'an Temple is one of the most famous temples in Shanghai which is located at West Nanjing Road, the flourishing downtown area of Shanghai.
Jing'an Temple is a good place to escape the hustle and bustle of crowds in downtown Shanghai. In the meantime, you can enjoy the marvellous painting and calligraphy by Yangzhou's Eight Eccentric Painters in the Exhibition Hall of Buddhist Relics. An important display of this temple is the bronze bell which was made in the Ming Dynasty.

Then, we will transfer to China Art Museum to enjoy the masterpieces of China's modern and contemporary artists.

China Art Museum
The museum was transformed from the China Pavilion of the Expo 2010 Shanghai, an upside-down red pyramid. A visit is worth it just for the extravagant building and its vistas of the city. It is dedicated to demonstrate the masterpieces of a number of China's modern and contemporary artists. Works on display span modern and contemporary periods, and there are numerous temporary exhibitions, including touring shows from abroad.
The stunning highlight of the museum is the multimedia replica of the famous painting ‘Riverside Scene at Qingming Festival one thousand years ago, which vividly shows the life of all social sectors at that time.

Then, we will continue to the site of the Shanghai Expo 2010, a park that offers a variety of exhibits about Chinese culture.

Shanghai Tower
The new landmark of Shanghai, the tallest building in Shanghai with a total height of 632 meters. The 118th floor of the tower has a indoor observation deck which is the world's highest indoor observation deck and called the 'Top of Shanghai Observatory'. Tourists are recommended to visit the exhibition hall on floor B1 first, and then take the express elevator to the 118th floor directly within only 55 seconds, its speed can reach 18 meters per second. Here, you have a bird’s-eye view of Shanghai. You will have time to stop and admire the scenery on both sides of the Huangpu River on the 119th floor.
We will visit the highest book store in China - Duoyun Books
‘Duoyun Books’ flagship store is located on the 52nd floor of the Shanghai Tower, at a height of 239m above ground. Overlooking Shanghai, visitors an nearly touch the blue sky and white clouds, while also enjoying a ‘garden in the sky’.
With a design based on a Chinese landscape, the space contains bookshelves shaped like mountains and is divided into seven areas including those for books, exhibitions, cultural events and leisure areas.

Then, we will walk along Duolun Road to visit life size bronze statues of the eminent writers and Luxun Park.

Shanghai Duolun Road Cultural Celebrities Street
Duolun Road, previously known as Darroch Road after a British missionary, is a tiny part of Shanghai that will transport you to a bygone era when Chinese literati and social elites were fashionable and making waves in the country's fabric in their many ways. This is a pedestrian street today and was home to many famous writers, artists, poets and social workersthrough the 1900s. The likes of Ding Ling, Rou Shi, Mao Dun and many others lived in different parts of this street and area.
Hong De Tang Church
This church is a grand structure on this street. Being a rare architectural structure, maybe the only one of its kind in the city, this attracts lots of attention from passers-by. The Christian church is built with Chinese architectural styles. If you are lucky, you may catch a wedding shoot underway here.

Lu Xun Memorial and Gravesite
It Originally named Hongkou Park. 1956 is Luxuns 75th birthday, and it is also the memorial day of Luxuns 20th years death. So the goverment moved Luxuns tomb here and set a statue in memory of Luxun. The Luxun Memorial Hall was set in the same year. All these made the park become a place of memory.
The park is renamed because of the Luxun Memorial Hall and Luxun Tomb. The area Luxun Tomb is about 1600 square meters. There are words written by Mao Zedong on the tombstone: the tomb of Luxun. There stands a bronze statue of Luxun in the grass in front of the tomb. It makes all the people feel respectful.
