What To Expect

Millennium City Park

Your English speaking guide will meet you in your Zhengzhou hotel's lobby at 8:30am and hop aboard your air-conditioned vehicle. Heading directly to Kaifeng, which will takes about 1 hour. Your tour guide will explain the histories and stories about this ancient capital along the way, feel free to ask any questions if you have!

Your first stop is Millennium City Park. Located in the northwest of Kaifeng, the west shore of the pretty Longting Lake, Millennium City Park is a large-scale historical cultural theme park in accordance with the proportion of one-to-one with the masterpiece Riverside Scenes at Qingming Festival which considered as one of the Chinese art treasure painted by Zhang Zeduan, a famous artist of Northern Song Dynasty (960—1127 A.D). Following the original drawing, Millennium City Park is magnificently reproduce the flourishing scenes of Kaifeng in Song Dynasty, which is also a lively life show for social custom, life, building structure and landscapes of that time. Accompanied by your tour guide, travel back to 1000 years ago to experience the ancient shops and hotels, all kinds of Song style mansion and houses, watch various shows, enjoy classical music of Song style.

Xiangguo Temple

Next, visit the Prime Minister Temple. The Grand Xiangguo Monastery is one of the ten famous temples of Chinese Buddhism. It plays an important role in and has extensive influence on the history of Chinese Buddhism. First constructed in 555 in the Northern Qi (AD 550-557) of Northern and Southern Dynasties, the temple was rebuilt in the Tang Dynasty(AD 618-907), and was bestowed the name Xiangguo Temple by Emperor Ruizong. The temple reached its heyday in the Song Dynasty (AD 960-1279). It became an international Buddhism center, attracting many foreign envoys and great monks. It contributed a lot to the cultural exchanges between China and other countries.
