Overview

What better way to explore one of the last remaining hidden sites—not yet touched by modernization—than by having an indigenous inhabitant tell you stories about the history and evolution of this great city. I am a local Shanghainese—born, and lived here all my life. I will lead you through the narrow streets of a town called Xinchang, 18 miles from downtown Shanghai, a once-thriving port with an 800-year history. It has managed to maintain most of its old buildings and population. Besides walking around the town landmarks, we will visit a traditional Chinese tea house where Ang Lee used as scenes for ' Lust Caution' . Finally, your taste buds will experience some delicious local food, so you can immerse yourself deeper into local life. In just a few hours, we will explore a very different face of Shanghai that makes this city so unique. We'll be off the beaten path for this multi-themed and entertaining experience.
