What To Expect

In the morning you will be picked up from your hotel lobby in downtown Chengdu, and then be driven to Pujiang County (about 1 hour and 15 minutes driving).

Known as the "hometown of green tea in China", the tea produced in Pujiang is of high quality and is one of the most valuable green teas in Sichuan province. Tea plantation area in Pujiang accounts for more than half of that in Chengdu. The tea farm provides each visitor with a small basket and a sun hat. A specially-assigned person guides to visit the tea farm, explains the tea knowledge, and begins to pick tea under the guidance of the master. Each visitor collects about half to one catty(half kilo) of tea leaves, and brings them back to the tea room, where they take part in the tea making under the leadership of the master. The produced tea is tasted on site and can be taken away as a souvenir. The whole process takes about 2-3 hours. After the pleasant experience, you will be driven back to your hotel in downtown Chengdu.
