What To Expect

Your guide will meet you in the lobby of your hotel at 8:00am. It takes 1.5 hours to drive to Hefangkou village and will take another 15 minutes to walk on the wall.
This section was built during the Northern Qi Dynasty (550 - 577) and rebuilt under the command of General Qi Jiguang in the Ming Dynasty (1368 - 1644). Occupying precipitous mountain terrains, this section only has ramparts on one side which was still enough to beat back attacks of enemies. You will see Jiabian watch tower here, which is different from other cubic watchtowers, because this one seems like being squashed and is in the shape of a matchbox. There are three arrow holes on the two wider sides and two holes on the other two walls.
We are going to the unrestored wall here after, you will climb to top with rope which is not too difficult, keep walking until the fish trail and then walk back to Jiabian watch tower until you walk downhill and back to your car. After having lunch in a local restaurant, you will finish your happy trekking and drive back to your hotel at downtown.
