What To Expect

Iron Bridge of Yellow River

Greet your guide at your Lanzhou city hotel's lobby, then take either taxi or public transportation to The Yellow River Scenery Road.

Firstly visit the must-see Iron Bridge of Yellow River. In 1907, under the local officers and the help of a Germany businessman, the Qing Government began to build this first iron bridge over the Yellow River. In 1942, to commemorate Dr. Sun Yat-sen, the bridge was re-named Zhongshan Bridge (Zhongshan is the Chinese name of Dr. Sun Yat-sen).

Lanzhou Shuiche Park

Then walking along the road next to the yellow river, heading to Lanzhou Shuiche Park. Here, you can get an idea of the old irrigation tool. The waterwheel was introduced from southern Yunnan Province to Lanzhou by a local. The first waterwheel was made in 1556, up to 1952 there were altogether 252 waterwheels lining both banks of the River. Stroll around the square and park with your tour guide, watch locals doing all kinds of exercise.

Your last stop is the White Pagoda Park, you can choose to take the cable car up (at your own expense) or hike to the top of the mountain. Here you will enjoy amazing view of the White Pagoda Mountain, Yellow River and Lanzhou City. Stroll around the park with your tour guide who will offer related stories and histories along the way.
