What To Expect

Yuyuan Old Street
Your tour guide will meet you at your hotel at 09:00 a.m.. Then, we will transfer to Shanghai Old City and start the highlight tour.
Shanghai Old Street, historically called Miaoqian Dajie, is an old business street that has a combination of tourist attractions, shops, entertainment and cultural exhibits. It owes its special social attractions and rich commercial background to the fact that the earliest bank, gold shop, jeweler's store, wine shop and tea house of the city were all to be found here. Visiting the old alleys of Shanghai is a great way to discover the traditional culture of this city and experience the real life of the Shanghainese.
Then, we visit the largest ancient gardens in Shanghai - Yu Garden.

Yu Garden (Yuyuan)
Yu Garden was a private garden of the Pan family in the Ming Dynasty. It was the largest and most prestigious of its era in Shanghai after it was completed.
Yu Garden is small in size, but it contains all elements that a classical Chinese garden should have. The pavilions, halls, rockeries, ponds and cloisters all have unique characteristics. The exquisite layout, beautiful scenery, and the artistic style of the garden architecture have made the garden one of the highlights of Shanghai.
You can walk to the Zigzag Nine Bend Bridge. Chinese people believe that the number nine symbolizes auspiciousness. Walking across the Bridge is said to bring people good luck. The Bridge leads to Mid-Lake Pavilion Teahouse, which is the oldest teahouse in Shanghai.

Shanghai Temple Of the Town God (Chenghung Miao)
The Old Town God Temple of Shanghai, with far-reaching history, attracts a lot of tourists from all over the world to visit. As well as praying, visitors to the Old City God Temple can watch some folk performances, can take part in cockfighting, special calligraphy and some other acrobatic performances. The Old City God Temple is most famous for its local snacks, and as such is a real kingdom of delicious food with many different kinds of restaurants spread along the streets.

Then, we will learn about the use of traditional Chinese Medicine at an ancient Chinese pharmacy.

This old Chinese pharmacy was built in the Qing Dynasty in 1783. It is one of the four famous traditional Chinese medicine stores in Shanghai. It still retains a very traditional operating and decorating style. The architecture is old and beautiful, and there are few better places to learn about the use of traditional Chinese Medicine.

South Bund Soft Spinning Material Market
The famous Shanghai "Fabric Market" is home to hundreds of tailors and seamstresses, and is the city's prime destination for bespoke clothing garments. Most people who come to Shanghai will recommend the South Bund Spinning Material Market as a must-visit place. There you can choose a variety of fabrics and then work with a tailor to customise the clothes you want.
Once you enter the market, you can see almost all the shops are using several languages to write their billboards as 80% of the customers are foreigners. “Tailor” is the most prominent feature, not only satisfying Chinese and foreigner's requirement for tailored fit clothes, but also bringing them unique clothing characteristics.

In the afternoon, we will visit Xujiahui Catholic Cathedral, Former French Concession area, Wukang Road, 1933 Old Millfun and Jin Mao Tower.

Xujiahui Catholic Church
St. Ignatius Cathedral was built in 1896 during Qing Dynasty. As an international church in Shanghai, it used to be called 'The largest Cathedral in the far east', which is now referred to as 'the Cathedral on Sheshan'. The building is in a Gothic style. The top is 50 meters high and is quite unique among the skyscrapers of the city.

Then, we will explore the Historical Sites and Wukang Building along Wukang Road.

Wukang Road
Wukang Road is only 1.17 km long. There are 21 outstanding city-level historical buildings and 22 district-level cultural protection relics. Each house and its detail show its stories and history. All of the buildings on the road are in European style, and while walking on Wukang Road you'll get the sense that you have arrived in Europe.
Wukang Building is the most famous building on Wukang Road. The building, shaped like a giant vessel, was the most famous English-styled building in Shanghai back in the 1930s. The Wukang Building was designed by Hudec, the well-know architect.

1933 Old Millfun
1933 Old Millfun, or 1933 Laochangfang in Chinese, or simply 1933, was originally a slaughterhouse, built in the year 1933 at the intersection of Hongkou Port and Shajing Port, not far from the Bund. Nowadays, it has been transformed into a cluster of creative art precincts and has become the center of Shanghai’s fashion, design, shopping and entertainment. We can see Lattice Windows, Umbrella Columns, Covered Bridges, Central Atrium and Sky Theater.

Then, we will transfer to Pudong New Area, walk along Lujiazui Ring Bridge and visit Jin Mao Tower.

Pudong New Area
As a new and bustling district, Pudong offers visitors some of the most modern attractions, businesses, skyscrapers and shopping malls, all featuring the latest in entertainment, technology and fashion.
We will walk along Lujiazui Ring Bridge which is good place to photograph skyscrapers.

Jin Mao Tower
Being the forth tallest building only to Shanghai Tower, Shanghai World Financial Center and Oriental Pearl Tower in Shanghai, Jin Mao Tower is located in the center of Lujiazui Finance and Trade Zone in Pudong. It is 420.5 meters (almost 1,380 feet) tall and covers an area of 2.3 hectares (5.68 acres). The architect, Adrian D. Smith, of this skyscraper ingeniously combined the elements of traditional Chinese culture with the newest architectural styles of the time, which makes it one of the best-constructed buildings in China.
The 88th floor-the highest floor, is reserved for the tower's observation deck, which can hold 1000 people at any one time. From there, visitors can get a sweeping view of the scenery on the banks of Huangpu River. If the weather is nice enough, you have a chance to see a spectacular sunset.
