What To Expect

The Bund (Wai Tan)
Your tour guide will meet you at exit of airport at 08:30 a.m. or your arrival time. Then, you will transfer to the Bund and start the highlight tour.
The Bund is a famous waterfront on the west bank of Huangpu River and regarded as the symbol of Shanghai. Here, the charm of Shanghai as a bustling metropolis combining the century-old history and flourishing future is fully presented, making the Bund Shanghai a must-see attraction. We will see the 26 various buildings of different architectural styles at the Bund. Such as Peace Hotel(Heping Fandian), Shanghai Customs House and Shanghai Pudong Development Bank. You will appreciate skyscrapers across the Huangpu River.

Then, we will transfer to Lujiazui Financial District and admire the skyscrapers of modern Shanghai.

Shanghai Tower
The new landmark of Shanghai, the tallest building in Shanghai with a total height of 632 meters. The 118th floor of the tower has a indoor observation deck which is the world's highest indoor observation deck and called the 'Top of Shanghai Observatory'. Tourists are recommended to visit the exhibition hall on floor B1 first, and then take the express elevator to the 118th floor directly within only 55 seconds, its speed can reach 18 meters per second. Here, you have a bird’s-eye view of Shanghai. You will have time to stop and admire the scenery on both sides of the Huangpu River on the 119th floor.
We will visit the highest book store in China - Duoyun Books
‘Duoyun Books’ flagship store is located on the 52nd floor of the Shanghai Tower, at a height of 239m above ground. Overlooking Shanghai, visitors an nearly touch the blue sky and white clouds, while also enjoying a ‘garden in the sky’.
With a design based on a Chinese landscape, the space contains bookshelves shaped like mountains and is divided into seven areas including those for books, exhibitions, cultural events and leisure areas.

Then, you will transfer to Jade Buddha Temple and appreciate a 1.9-meter-high white jade Buddha.

Jade Buddha Temple
Jade Buddha Temple is a working Buddhist monastery—one of the few in China. The star attractions of the Jade Buddha Temple are two figures brought to Shanghai from Singapore by a monk from Burma in the 19th century: a 6.5-foot (2-meter) seated jade Buddha encrusted with semiprecious stones and a smaller white jade reclining Buddha. Moreover, there is a large collection of statues, relics, and art.
You will copy the Buddhist Scriptures with a writing brush and enjoy vegetarian noodles at Jade Buddha Temple.

In the afternoon, you will walk around Former French Concession area and Nanjing Road.

Former French Concession

Xintiandi
Xintiandi is a tourist attraction that preserves the historical and cultural features of Shanghai and integrates Chinese and western culture. Xintiandi is divided into northern and southern parts. The south is dominated by modern architecture. The north is dominated by Shikumen old buildings. Composed of Shikumen and modern architectural style, now it has become a hot and fashionable pedestrian street in the center of the city. Shikumen Museum, Shanghai
It is an old shikumen house built in the 1920s that has been preserved and renovated. The museum was built according to the model of one household in the 1920s. There are seven main exhibition rooms, namely, the guest room, the study room, the old people's room, the master room, the daughter room, the pavilion room and the oven room. The story of a shikumen family runs through the whole visit. It not only shows the unique shikumen architectural culture of Shanghai, but also reproduces the living space and lifestyle of Shanghai people in those days.

Nanjing Lu (Nanjing Road)
Nanjing Road is considered to be the 'No. 1 commercial street in China', which has been a landmark for this city for a long time. Along its 5.5 kilometers, you will find over 600 shops that on average are visited by some 1.7 million people each day. Here, you can purchase everything wanted, spanning from special and cheap souvenirs to the luxurious world famous brands. You can also visit the surrounding neighborhoods and the thinnest building.
The thinnest in Ningbo Road is known as Paper Building(纸片楼).
The building was once reported by British Daily Mail, stated as perhaps the world's flattest and thinnest building. Standing diagonally in the front of the the building, it just looks like a piece of paper. The old house had four floors, not all that thin; it takes the shape of triangular polygon. This novel and strange building still has a large number of residents.
