Shijia Hutong
Your English speaking guide will pick you up from your Beijing City Hotel's lobby at 4pm. Walk along Shijia Hutong, which is most well-known for its education.There are many famous people who used to live along this allay. Shijia Hutong Museum was founded in 2014; the first facility in Beijing that was established to preserve Hutong history.

With Beijing potentially set to lose as much as 20 percent more of its remaining Hutongs, the museum’s opening couldn’t come at a better time to foster appreciation of the city’s most distinctive style of architecture, and along with it, a neighborhood way of life that has disappeared from a city the population of which has grown 20 times over the last 60 years.The various items on display show the Hutong life as it was decades ago.There are altogether 8 exhibition halls.

Your English-speaking guide will give a detailed history lesson on Hutong history and culture. Explore Shijiahutong to the east end, before entering a street with shops and restaurants where the locals eat and shop. Visit the local fresh market to witness the everyday life that consist of  fresh produce. Buy some fruit so you can taste local produce.
