Hotel Features.
Beijing International Hotel, a towering triangular structure, features a front square filled with cypress trees, ponds and fountains. The hotel includes seven restaurants, most notably the Starlight, a revolving rooftop restaurant that offers 360- degree views of the city and serves Asian and Western buffets. Tanfu Restaurant, designed to resemble a Qing Dynasty home, includes a fish pond, a pool, flowers and grass, and serves Tau cuisine. Additional dining options include Shanghainese and Japanese cuisine, barbecue, pasta dishes and a variety of traditional regional favorites such as bird's nest, shark's fin and abalone. The International Conference Center offers an extensive array of conference and function facilities in a variety of settings. The hotel spa provides stress reduction and relaxation treatments, aromatherapy, mud baths and wraps. A shopping arcade is located in the hotel. Pets are not permitted.

Guestrooms. The 28-story hotel's 916 guestrooms offer contemporary décor, and many rooms feature Chinese-influenced décor with wood paneling. Amenities include cable and satellite television, international direct-dial phones, high-speed Internet access for a fee and desks. Rooms also include coffee and tea makers, complimentary bottled water and minibars.

Expert Tip. The Temple of Heaven, located four kilometers from the hotel, is a collection of Taoist buildings dating to the Ming and Qing dynasties. The Hall of Prayer for Good Harvests is a three-gabled circular wood building set on a marble base. Its interior is brilliantly decorated in red, yellow, gold and blue. The complex also includes the smaller Vault of Heaven and the Circular Mound Altar.
