This was my second time taking a tour with Jim and we spent a great afternoon together filled with eating and learning. Jim is a humble, personable, and highly knowledgeable Shanghainese local who will be sure to give you a unique experience seeing and tasting Shanghai. Thanks again Jim for the memories!
Awesome Experience!

Amazing experience for anyone interested in learning the Shanghai food culture. Jim is from Shanghai and has deep knowledge of the City and food culture. The food experience was amazing as we tried many different dishes and a few quick spontaneous bites along the way. Jim is very attentive and subtly adjusts the experience based on your interests. The experience of being in the mix of the morning rush and seeing the locals navigate each place as they order, eat and have conversation was priceless. Jim gave us restaurant history, food and dish history and preparation commentary. I especially liked how he explained the local conversation (I don’t speak mandarin) in the small restaurants giving us a better feel of the general local vibe. The food was delicious, atmosphere was exciting and we got a great history lesson of the city through a culinary lens. Highly recommend this amazing experience!
Way beyond a food tour - excellent evening with a friendly local!

Fantastic experience with a local expert! This tour highlighted some great food, including spots a tourist would never think to stop, but Jim the guide also gave lots of additional information about the history and the area. He was truly a pleasure to spend an evening with and made sure to make everyone feel comfortable throughout the experience, even giving some information about Chinese eating etiquette.
Great evening in Shanghai

The tour was very good and it started with noodles, some meet and soup. Then we stopped at a local brewery and had some craft beer samples. After we moved to another neighborhood where we had some delicious dumplings and street food. The food was great and Jim is a very good guide, who was also a very good company and talk through the evening. It is highly recommended!
Local food tour Shanghai with Jim

We enjoyed the food tour with Jim very much. He not only fed us with delicious food, but also with a lot of information about the Chinese culture and history. He also explained a lot about tea, coffee, beer and the food.
Jim did me the great favor to choose mainly vegetarian food. Our kids booked the tour for us and didn't mention my preference before. We ended the tour in an excellent vegetarian restaurant with a lot of delicious choices.
It was a great afternoon - thank you Jim!
